Prague Jewish Town dates back to the 13th century, but unfortunately vast redevelopment was undertaken between 1893 – 1913. Only a few of the most significant buildings were saved as a living testimony to the memory of Prague Jews. Yet these buildings are the best of Jewish historical monuments in Europe. Six synagogues remain, including the Jewish Town Hall and the Old Jewish Cemetery, the most remarkable in Europe.
