Started in 1357, Charles Bridge is the oldest in Prague. It is 515 meters long and 10 meters wide. Charles IV entrusted the supervision of the work to a twenty-seven-year old architect named Peter Parler. The bridge was finished many years later and became one of the centers of town life. Gothic towers are located on the both ends of the bridge and the statues date mostly from the 18th century.
